Overwhelming response to the COVID-19 Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) Webinar!

Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) as part of COVID-19 response is critical to provide right information, promote safe behaviours, and allay myths, misconceptions, stigma, discrimination, and fear. To ensure behaviour change, and to build community ownership to fight the pandemic, Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) professionals have a critical role to play in implementing and supporting RCCE interventions.

The Dhaara webinar addressing the above was organised on 15th May and hosted by SBCC TARANG Hub, NCCDC & UNICEF. The focus of the webinar was to understand what it means to reimagine SBCC today when person to person contact is limited between citizens, and service providers such as teachers, ASHAs, AWWs, and ANMs.

An introductory panel on COVID-19 RCCE in S. Asia and India set the tone and provided the context. The three panels that followed were on 1) COVID specific RCCE: Strategy development, Partnership, Platform, Implementation, 2) COVID sensitive RCCE: Ensuring services and care for children and women and 3) Evidence informed COVID RCCE: Data & Evidence Guidance for RCCE were all well received by the attendees, more than 350 from across India and S. Asia.
